Pandan – Tasty Leaves!
A must for Southasian cooking! Fresh leaves have a nutty fragrance and are used to enhance rice dishes, cakes, meats, and drinks. There are oodles of Thai, Vietnamese and Filipino recipes that use Pandan. Pandan is a tropical so it must be protected from freezing. Pandan plants likes filtered sun, average moisture, and can reach 6-8ft tall (but not if you’re harvesting regularly!). Seeds are sterile. Zones 9-11.
