Leconte Soft Pear Tree: Pear Perfection in Your Backyard

About the Fruit

The Leconte Pear is a hidden gem among fruit connoisseurs. This variety is cherished for its soft, buttery texture and subtly sweet flavor, reminiscent of traditional Southern pears. The fruit’s light-yellow skin encases a tender, white flesh that melts in your mouth, making it a delightful treat for fresh eating or in a variety of culinary creations. Indulge in the elegance of Leconte Pears and add a touch of sophistication to your table.

What to Know About the Tree

The Leconte Pear Tree is a vision of grace and productivity. This deciduous tree showcases a display of lush green foliage that transforms into a vibrant autumnal spectacle before winter dormancy. It’s a fairly vigorous grower, reaching a mature height of 15-20 feet. The tree’s spring blossoms are not only a feast for the eyes but also attract pollinators to your garden. The Leconte Pear Tree is self-fertile, but its yields improve with a pollinator nearby, making it a perfect pairing with other pear varieties.

Harvest Season

Anticipation for the Leconte Pear harvest begins in late summer, as the fruits reach their peak of ripeness. The timing is impeccable, as the bountiful crop coincides with the season of preserving and canning. Imagine the joy of harvesting these exquisite pears right from your own tree and the endless possibilities of pear preserves, pies, and fresh snacks to enjoy with family and friends.

Shipping Information

Before Your Plants Arrive: You can find many guides on unpacking, planting, & care, on our growing guides page.

The Journey From Our Nursery to Your Door:  We NEVER ship our plants bare root. Your plant will travel in the very container in which it was nurtured. We thoroughly prune and water them before packing, and make sure they’re well wrapped to retain moisture during transit. It’s as though you’ve personally collected them from our nursery!

Choose Your Ship Date: We understand you’ll want to be available when your plant arrives. Our checkout process features a handy calendar that allows you to choose the Monday on which you want your plant to ship. Depending on your location, you’ll likely receive your plant by Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of that week. Once shipped, UPS will generate a tracking number and send it to the email you provided. You can then follow your plant’s journey and ensure someone is available to unpack it on arrival day.
