Imoto Fuyu Persimmon Tree: Unwrap Nature’s Candy

About the Fruit

The Imoto Fuyu Persimmon is a luscious treasure, each fruit a golden-orange gem with a sweet, honey-like flavor. Unlike its astringent relatives, this non-astringent variety is ready to eat as soon as it softens, without the need for curing. The flesh is firm, yet creamy, perfect for fresh snacking, baking, or creating delightful persimmon puddings. A versatile addition to any kitchen, the Imoto Fuyu Persimmon is a seasonal delight that brings a touch of exotic sophistication to your culinary creations.

What to Know About the Tree

The Imoto Fuyu Persimmon Tree is a deciduous delight, showcasing a seasonal display of foliage that transitions from a glossy green to fiery autumn hues. This self-pollinating tree reaches a moderate height of 10-12 feet, making it an excellent choice for diverse garden sizes. Its strikingly beautiful, blocky fruits hang like ornaments as the leaves fall, providing an enchanting contrast in the winter landscape. Easy to care for and less prone to pests and diseases, it’s a resilient addition that promises bountiful harvests for years to come.

Harvest Season

Anticipation builds through the growing season until the Imoto Fuyu Persimmon Tree reaches its harvest climax in the late fall. This is when the tree reveals its full glory, laden with ripe, succulent persimmons that are as visually appealing as they are delicious. The fruits can be picked while still firm and allowed to ripen off the tree to your desired softness, ensuring a fresh, sweet treat throughout the winter months.

Fruitscaping™ with Persimmon Trees

Embark on a unique Fruitscaping™ journey with our exquisite selection of Persimmon Trees. We offer both astringent and non-astringent varieties to cater to diverse taste preferences. While astringent persimmons are known for their high tannin content, making them best enjoyed when fully ripe, non-astringent persimmons can be savored crisp, like an apple, without the mouth-puckering sensation.

Persimmon trees are nature’s multi-taskers, adding visual allure, shade, and succulent fruits to your organic garden. They are remarkably resistant to diseases and pests, making them a low-maintenance yet high-reward addition to your Fruitscaping™ endeavors.

Persimmons thrive in well-drained, sandy or loamy soil and prefer slightly acidic conditions. They flourish under full sun exposure, needing at least six hours of sunlight daily to yield a rich crop.

In the Fruitscaping™ design, persimmon trees offer striking ornamental value. Their lush foliage in summer and vibrant, orange-yellow fall colors create a spectacular display. Moreover, the bright orange fruits hanging on the tree after leaf drop offer a unique, decorative touch throughout the winter.

Persimmon trees also prove a fantastic choice for different gardening styles. Whether you choose to shape them into a magnificent espalier or let them grow naturally, they contribute to the overall aesthetic appeal of your garden.

Immerse yourself in the rewarding journey of Fruitscaping™ with our Persimmon Trees. From planting and caring to harvesting and enjoying the sweet, honey-like flavor of your homegrown persimmons, each step is filled with delightful experiences. With our astringent and non-astringent varieties, discover the pleasure of growing and savoring your own persimmons.

Shipping Information

Before Your Plants Arrive: You can find many guides on unpacking, planting, & care, on our growing guides page.

The Journey From Our Nursery to Your Door:  We NEVER ship our plants bare root. Your plant will travel in the very container in which it was nurtured. We thoroughly prune and water them before packing, and make sure they’re well wrapped to retain moisture during transit. It’s as though you’ve personally collected them from our nursery!

Choose Your Ship Date: We understand you’ll want to be available when your plant arrives. Our checkout process features a handy calendar that allows you to choose the Monday on which you want your plant to ship. Depending on your location, you’ll likely receive your plant by Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of that week. Once shipped, UPS will generate a tracking number and send it to the email you provided. You can then follow your plant’s journey and ensure someone is available to unpack it on arrival day.
