This bay leaf tree is the real deal from the Mediterranean. Laurus noblis ‘Angustifolia’ or willow bay is a more disease tolerant variety, rarely suffering from the die back associated with other cultivars of laurus noblis. Bay Leaf is an easy to grow evergreen shrub or tree. Very winter hardy to Zone 8b. Trees can be sheared tightly to form topiaries or allowed to grow naturally can reach a height of 20 foot. The young leaves are used to flavor soups, stews and stuffings. Excellent hedge or container plant. Grows to 8-20 feet, depending upon temperature. Zones 8B-10.
