Workshops at the Nursery

FEBRUARY 2012

Brandy talking with folks
In the past, we’ve always taught folks one-on-one. And of course we’ll keep doing so in the future. But we’re working on having more group workshops as well. We want to do small groups and focus on subjects that interest you. If any of these look like workshops you’d like to attend, call or email us at justfruits@hotmail.com, and we’ll add you to the list.

UPCOMING WORK SHOPS

SUSTAINABLE SOIL IMPROVEMENT METHODS with Ed Schroeder
Sunday, February 5, 2012 from 1:00 to 2:30PM
We will be talking about simple sustainable ways to improve your soil and the plants that grow in it. There is a microcosm of life just under out feet that is more diverse than a coral reef or a jungle rain forest. Providing a suitable environment for this community of organisms, both seen and unseen, is fundamental to a living-breathing-healthy soil. Healthy soil supports healthy plants that are more resistant to disease, more beautiful in landscapes, and abundant food that is better tasting and more nutritious.
Dr. Schroeder is a retired veterinarian who has changed his focus from animals to plants and their environment. Over the years, he has been involved in several types of veterinary practice; livestock, pets, zoo, exotics, and laboratory animals. In 1997 he retired from teaching exotic animal medicine in the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Ed has over 65 years of gardening experience. He and his wife Carol live in Tallahassee with their 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
Call 850-926-5644 for questions. Workshop is FREE, but class size is limited to 20.
