Violet de Bordeaux Fig – Dwarf Fig!
Here’s a fig that’s reputedly above and beyond the others in flavor! Violet de Bordeaux is a small, juicy, dark purple-black fig with strawberry-colored flesh. The tree is small, only growing to 5 feet tall, but it’s a prolific producer of two crops of figs. Violet de Bordeaux adapts well to containers or small spaces. Very good for fresh eating, cooking or dried. Small, closed eye. Ripens in August to September. Zone 8B-10.
