Ruby Red grapefruit was the first grapefruit tree to be granted a U.S. patent (in 1929), Ruby Red grapefruit made Texas famous in the early days of commercial citrus growing. Red-blushed yellow rind and luscious deep ruby flesh that fades to pink at maturity. Still, very popular it has a naturally sweet-tart juicy flavor we all are familiar with. Fruit ripens November to May. Self fertile. Zones 8B-10.
