Pupello Loquat Tree- Fruits First Year!
This is another one of Charles Novak’s selections. Mr. Novak was an avid fruit collector in Plant City, Florida. One of his passions was loquats. This variety came from a friend, who while traveling through Italy stopped to gather and eat some local fruit. He so liked the fruit, he brought some of the seed home with him. Those seed were planted, on his 10 acre farm back in Florida. When the trees fruited, he gave Mr. Novak some cuttings of the largest, best tasting fruit of the group. Nr Novak named the grafted trees after him. Pupello is a large yellow, honey sweet flavored loquat. These are grafted trees, and will bear the first year planted. Evergreen broad leafed trees are beautiful in the landscape. Fragrant flowers will scent the garden through fall. Trees are covered with bright yellow fruit. Loquats are truly one of the most outstanding ornamental edible landscaping trees. Ripens May. Zones 8B-10. Grow in containers in northern climates.
