Olympian Fig Tree: Divine Flavor Fit for the Gods

About the Fruit

Embark on a mythical journey with each bite of the Olympian Fig, a treasure from the Pacific Northwest. This delectable variety offers large, purplish-brown figs with strikingly vibrant red flesh inside. The luscious, jammy texture combined with a flavor that’s the perfect blend of sweetness and complexity, makes the Olympian Fig an epicurean delight. Renowned for its impressive size and exceptional taste, this fig is a divine choice for fresh snacking, decadent baking, or creating gourmet preserves.

What to Know About the Tree

The Olympian Fig Tree is a vision of robust beauty and vigor. As a deciduous plant, it sheds its leaves in winter, revealing a graceful structure that adds stark elegance to the winter landscape. During the growing season, this hardy tree is adorned with large, deeply lobed leaves that provide a tropical aesthetic. Reaching heights of 10-15 feet, it can be easily maintained at a smaller size with pruning, making it versatile for various garden spaces and perfect for pot culture.

Harvest Season

Anticipation peaks in the summer months, as the Olympian Fig Tree begins to yield its bountiful harvest. The heavy crops of sumptuous fruit are a cause for celebration, typically ripening in late July to early August. This early harvest allows you to savor the sweet rewards of your gardening efforts and share the abundance with friends and family throughout the season.

Fruitscaping™ with Fig Trees

Embrace the joy of Fruitscaping™ with our Fig Trees. Among the simplest and most rewarding fruiting plants to grow, figs are an excellent addition to any organic garden. Their inherent disease resistance and few pest issues can be managed easily without the need for harsh chemicals, ensuring a bountiful, eco-friendly harvest.

Our Fig trees exhibit a diverse palette of flavors, textures, and ripening seasons. Some varieties possess thin skins with succulent centers evoking the flavor of rich maple syrup – a delight when savored fresh from the tree. Other varieties offer a naturally sweet texture, perfect for drying or turning into delectable preserves.

With their compact growth habit, fig trees are perfect for integrating into the shrubbery border, adding an attractive contrast with their broad, deeply lobed leaves. Consider pairing these distinctive trees with the elegant pomegranate and the fine-textured blueberry bushes for a stunning visual mix. Complement this arrangement with a lush undergrowth of strawberries, creating a cycle of blooming flowers, ripening fruit, and vibrant fall colors.

The young fig tree’s smooth, flexible trunk lends itself to creative gardening techniques. Train it into an espalier for a living wall, or twist it into a striking specimen tree. If you’re dealing with limited space, lay the trunk flat against the ground, and watch as the vertical shoots transform into a natural, green hedge.

Fig trees are also well-suited to container gardening. The root restriction of a pot often encourages the tree to produce even more prolific crops. So, if you’re an urban gardener or short on garden space, our fig trees will prove a perfect fit.

Embrace the ease and joy of Fruitscaping™ with Fig Trees. Enjoy the journey from planting and care to the sweet reward of your homegrown figs.

Shipping Information

Before Your Plants Arrive: You can find many guides on unpacking, planting, & care, on our growing guides page.

The Journey From Our Nursery to Your Door:  We NEVER ship our plants bare root. Your plant will travel in the very container in which it was nurtured. We thoroughly prune and water them before packing, and make sure they’re well wrapped to retain moisture during transit. It’s as though you’ve personally collected them from our nursery!

Choose Your Ship Date: We understand you’ll want to be available when your plant arrives. Our checkout process features a handy calendar that allows you to choose the Monday on which you want your plant to ship. Depending on your location, you’ll likely receive your plant by Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of that week. Once shipped, UPS will generate a tracking number and send it to the email you provided. You can then follow your plant’s journey and ensure someone is available to unpack it on arrival day.
