LSU Scott’s Black Fig – LSU Release!
Very little information is available about this fig, but apparently it’s another release from the LSU Agriculture Center fig program. Like so many of the most successful figs for the Southeast, it has a fairly small closed eye. LSU Scott’s Black is a large fruited black skinned fig with bright red pulp. It ripens late August through September. One crop. Closed eye. More resistant to fig rust than other varieties. Zones 8B-10.
