Fruitscaping™ with Strawberry Plants

Enhance your landscape with the delightful charm of Strawberry Plants in your Fruitscaping™ venture. Famed for their sweet, heart-shaped berries, these plants provide a dual purpose of both aesthetic appeal and delicious harvests.

Strawberry plants prefer well-drained soil rich in organic matter. A generous addition of compost or well-rotted manure can help improve soil fertility and structure, promoting healthier, more productive plants. Maintaining a slightly acidic soil pH is ideal for strawberries.

Mulching strawberries is essential to maintain soil moisture, suppress weeds, and provide a clean barrier between the berries and the soil. Straw is a traditional mulch for strawberries, but pine needles or shredded leaves also work well and blend beautifully into a natural garden setting.

These lovely plants come in several varieties, offering a choice between June-bearing, everbearing, or day-neutral types, to suit your climate and harvesting preferences. The joy of plucking ripe, sun-warmed strawberries straight from the plant is a summer tradition not to be missed.

Strawberry plants are versatile in growth habits. They can be cultivated traditionally in garden beds, or if space is a constraint, they perform well in containers, hanging baskets, or even vertical strawberry towers. Their low-growing nature and lovely white flowers make them a fitting ground cover or an edge plant in a border.

Growing your strawberries can become a fun family activity, with the reward of sweet, homegrown berries that far surpass the flavor of store-bought ones. The joy of seeing the tiny white flowers transform into red, juicy fruits is simply unmatched.

Embark on the wonderful journey of Fruitscaping™ with Strawberry Plants. Enjoy the process from planting and care to the joy of harvesting your very own sun-ripened strawberries. It’s a venture that gratifies both your palate and your passion for gardening!

Shipping Information

Before Your Plants Arrive: You can find many guides on unpacking, planting, & care, on our growing guides page.

The Journey From Our Nursery to Your Door:  We NEVER ship our plants bare root. Your plant will travel in the very container in which it was nurtured. We thoroughly prune and water them before packing, and make sure they’re well wrapped to retain moisture during transit. It’s as though you’ve personally collected them from our nursery!

Choose Your Ship Date: We understand you’ll want to be available when your plant arrives. Our checkout process features a handy calendar that allows you to choose the Monday on which you want your plant to ship. Depending on your location, you’ll likely receive your plant by Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of that week. Once shipped, UPS will generate a tracking number and send it to the email you provided. You can then follow your plant’s journey and ensure someone is available to unpack it on arrival day.
